Qualification Awarded

Students are awarded with a Short Cycle Degree in Computer Programming upon successful completion of all the requirements in the curriculum programme and fulfilling all other requirements for graduation.

Short Cycle Degree


Upon completing the program, the student;
Comes to a state that s/he can create software on at least one programming language.
Recognizes any hardware belonging to a computer, can put together any computer if necessary.
Recognizes operating systems and network systems used in any computer, knows and uses it.
Knows database-structures and uses them.
Can make Web Design.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students' admission to higher education is based on a nation-wide Student Selection Examination (ÖSS). The examination is held once in a year and is administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to institutions of higher education based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the selection examination and their high school grade point averages.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

The students of our University have the right to request the recognition of their prior learning at different universities. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents to the relevant department in the first semester of their registration year.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

Distributions of the requirements to be able to get are to complete determined credits (100-120) and to fulfill other requirements below.
1- 100 credits which includes 30 obligatory courses determined by the curriculum.
2- She/He is required to complete 12 credits including 4 optional courses determined in the curriculum.
3- Maximum span allowed to complete Short Cycle Degree is 4 years.

Profile of The Programme

The basic aim of this program is to bring up assistant workers for Computer Technologies by developing their theoric and practical knowledge. As well as including such courses as Algorithm, Introduction to Programming, Data Structures and Programming, Visual Programming, Computer Hardware, it also includes Research Techniques and Workshop, System Analysis and Design Courses and Computer Network Systems courses along with those which are intended to practice. The basic skills of students are established by practicing group and individual works thanks to those courses obtained during education process. With the internship, that makes it possible to conduct these skills and complete what is missing.

After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;
Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Having the ability of practicing, being able to be suitable for different environments, being able to reach the level to continue for Bachelor Degree Education thanks to basic theories which were formerly adopted.

Access to Further Studies

After pre-bachelor degree education, there come two options in front of the students. One is to pass into Open Education Faculty without exam (continues 3 years), the other is to pass into the suitable departments of faculties upon being succesfull in vertical pass exam (continues 3 years) and graduate with a BA degree.

Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading

Examinations are generally in written form. However, the instructor of the course may decide to conduct the exam in the form of an oral exam, project or assignment on condition that s/he states it on the course information form (syllabus). Examinations are arranged and conducted by the instructors teaching the courses. A make-up exam is given to students with certified excuses accepted by the relevant executive board within five days after the final examinations are over.

Graduation Requirements

- The requirements that the university demand as preconditions,
- To be successful from all courses during four years of education and reach the average grade of 2.00.

Graduates who successfully complete this program;
 1. have high level information and skills supported by the course books that include the most recent information, application equipment and other scientific sources related to education technologies, teaching profession, general information and basic sciences; use these informations and skills in daily life and in jobs,
 2. examine and evaluate concepts about education technology and teaching profession, ideas and data with scientific methods; diagnose, analyze and discuss complicated problems and subjects; develop suggestions based on scientific discoveries and evidences,
