Qualification Awarded

Students are awarded with a Short Cycle Degree in "Office Management and Secretaryship" upon successful completion of all the requirements in the curriculum programme and fulfilling all other requirements for graduation

Level of Qualification

Short Cycle Degree


1 After general or vocational secondary school education, students will have upper level classes and the lectures will be supported with the equipment. Students will comprehend the fundamental concepts of the area and they will have the necessary ability and knowledge. 
2 To be able to define, collect and use the necessary input datas for solving the problems in office management and executive assistant position. To have the ability of using theoretical knowledge, manual and/or intellectual skills. 
3 To be able to perform within teamwork and express his/her ideas in office management and executive assistance to his/her colleaques, superiors and customers 
4 Students learn the innovations and show the ability of using them in office management and executive assistance 
5 Students can identify and solve the unforeseen problems in their area.(office managementand executive assistance)
6 Students can objectively control and evaluate the performance of the staff working under his/her responsibility 
7 Students have adequate level of vocational English. 
8 Students can use computer and they can use necessary software and hardware related with their area. 
9 Students have knowledge and consciousness about social responsibilities, moral values, social security rights related with their area 
10 Students have knowledge and consciousness in their fields about job security, environmental protection 
11 Students are conscious about Turkish war of independence and Kemalism.  

Specific Admission Requirements

Students' admission to higher education is based on a nation-wide Student Selection Examination (ÖSS). The examination is held once in a year and is administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to institutions of higher education based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the selection examination and their high school grade point averages.(

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

The students of our University have the right to request the recognition of their prior learning at different universities. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents to the relevant department in the first semester of their registration year.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The requirements for getting Short Cycle Degree are to complete 96 national credit hours and complete 120 ECTS credit hours. 
a)(91) national credit hours covering (37) compulsory courses as detailed in the curriculum.
b)(5) national credit hours covering (2) elective courses as detailed in the curriculum. 

Profile of The Programme

To educate students as executive assistants that are equipped with enough vocational knowledge and able to use all sorts of office equipments for public and private sector.The aim of this programme is to bring up individuals who can be office secretaries and managers and the courses are as follows; using keyboard, business and administration, vocational correspondence, organizational behaviour, filing techniques, secretarial knowledge, Office management and e.t.c.

Program Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;
 1-  1- Students will be able to provide office services in the corporation and/or institution they work effectively.
 2-  2- Students will gain the skills of working independently, identifying, modeling and solving problems in their field of study.
 3-  3- Students will be able to organize the daily schedule of the manager or managers they are responsible to.
 4-  4- Students will have general knowledge of modern protocol, planning and managing the activities of the institution.
 5-  5- Students will be able to establish the human relations and communication effectively as employees working at the centre of the institution.
 6-  6- Students will be able to use the technology, modern techniques and working equipments which are necessary in modern office environments properly, and track the recent developments in these fields.

Access to Further Studies

After completing the short cycle degree programme, it is possible for the students to continue further studies in the first cycle degree programme that can last up to 2 years, on condition that they pass the Vertical Transfer Examination.

Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading

Each student must attend the courses, applied studies, laboratories, projects, seminars, workshops, graduation projects and other studies of the semester. Examinations are generally in written form. However, the instructor of the course may decide to conduct the exam in the form of an oral exam, project or assignment on condition that s/he states it on the course information form. Students who have not attended at least 70% of theoretical courses are not allowed to take the final exam of those courses. Once the student fulfills the attendance requirements in theoretical courses, no attendance is required if the course is to be repeated later.

Graduation Requirements

To be succesfull from all the courses required for graduation within the time period defined in the related regulation and to finish the study programme with the GPA of at least 2.00 To do an internship of 30 weekdays

Graduates who successfully complete this program;
 1. have high level information and skills supported by the course books that include the most recent information, application equipment and other scientific sources related to education technologies, teaching profession, general information and basic sciences; use these informations and skills in daily life and in jobs,
 2. examine and evaluate concepts about education technology and teaching profession, ideas and data with scientific methods; diagnose, analyze and discuss complicated problems and subjects; develop suggestions based on scientific discoveries and evidences,
