Qualification Awarded

Students are awarded with a Second Cycle Degree in Physical Education and Sport upon succesful of all the requirments in the curriculum programme and fulfilling all other requirements.

Objectives

The aim of the Physical Education and Sport Second Cycle Degree Programme in is not only to prepare qualified and wise graduates according to the needs of our country but also to increase the number of teaching staff and specialists that are the needs of the universities. With this aim, its main orientation is; to train scientists who have scientific thinking ability, knowledge and research skills.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students with a first cycle degree from Physical education and sport are accepted to Physical education and Sport Second Cycle Degree Programs. To apply for applying for admission to the Second Cycle Degree in Physical education and Sport , the prospective student should get at least 55 from (ALES) in the grade category that s/he is applying for should get the equivalent grade from GRE, GMAT. In addition, the prospective student should get one of the exams from ÜDS, KPDS,YDS (national foreign language exams)

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Physical Education And Sport Second Cycle Degree Programme students who are registered with vertical transfer have the right to request the recognition of their prior learning. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents to the relevant department in the first week of their registration semester.

The requirements to graduate from Physical Education and Sport Second Cycle Degree Programme are to complete 120 ECTS credit hours including at least seven courses the credit of which is above 21 National Credits, a seminar and thesis study.

Profile of The Programme

In the Master program in physical education and Sport learning a multidisciplinary curriculum has been devolped enabling sports scientist and physical education teachers to specialize in sport pedagogy.The program includes compulsory and selective courses on advanced speciality or general or cultural topics. By the great number of elective courses, students are given the chance to choose according to their preferences, which makes the program versatile. Thus, during the post-graduate training in physical education and Sport learning, processes regarding sport pedagogy as well as groups involved in sports for health may be investigated. In this context, knowledge is transferred to the student in an applied way based on scientific contemporary approaches

Program Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;
 1-  Has expertise level skills on physical education planning, organization, and administration
 2-  Utilizes the instruments, technology, and information resources; required in the teaching process,
 3-  Has proficiency in fundamental skills and knowledge of physical education and sport,
 4-  Integrates knowledge base and applications of other disciplines into physical education and sports education
 5-  Attains scientific publications on physical education and sports, and on related disciplines
 6-  Applies the measurement and evaluation methods proficiently to improve quality of education
 7-  Critically evaluates the physical education and sports knowledge
 8-  Knows the different research methods and techniques
 9-  Pursues ethical values during scientific data collection, interpretation and dissemination of results
Occupational Profiles of Graduates

Wider employment opportunities for graduates of our programs exist: if they are successful in entrance exams they may serve as a lecturer at universities that offer training in the field. Also, various organizations and institutions, especially schools provide positions as consultant in sport pedagogy and exercise experts

Access to Further Studies

At the end of Physical Education and Sport Second Cycle Degree Programme, the students become specialist in Physical Education and Sport and they can work in the universities or in private sector.

Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading

Examinations are composed of one mid-term and one final exam. In order a student to take the final exam, s/he should attend at least 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of applied and laboratory studies. The examinations can be in written form, oral form, written-application form, oral-application form or project form. The course grade is calculated by adding 40% of mid-term grade to the 60% of the final exam. To be accepted as successful from the course, the second cycle degree students should get at least 70(CC) out of 100. The final exam results should be 70 (CC) in order to pass the course.

Graduation Requirements
