Qualification Awarded

Students are awarded with a Short Cycle Degree in Electronic Technology upon successful completion of all the requirements in the curriculum and fulfilling all other requirements for graduation.

Level of Qualification

Short Cycle Degree


At the end of the programme, the student will;
•have knowledge and skills based on efficiencies gained in General or Vocational High Schools and supplied with upper level lectures and application tools; and will be able to indicate the comprehension of basic concepts in that field,
•define, collect and apply the data required for solutions of the problems that arise in Electronics Technology field; indicate the comprehension of theoretical knowledge and/or intellectual skills required for practical applications,
•have the ability to express the designs and applications about Electronics Technology clearly to colleagues, superiors and to person & groups serviced; be able to perform within a team,
•have the ability to learn independently and indicate the comprehension to apply knowledge in Electronics Technology field,
•indicate the comprehension of troubleshooting skill for unexpected situations in Electronics Technology practices,
•control and evaluate performances of the staff under responsibility objectively,
•have comprehension of effectual level of foreign language in related profession,
•have the ability to use specific required professional software, further from the basic computer access,
•be conscious and cultured about social responsibility, ethics and social security rights for the subjects about related profession,
•be conscious about professional security, health and environmental protection,
•be conscious about Ataturk's Principles and informed about History of Turkish Revolution.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students' admission to higher education is based on a nation-wide Student Selection Examination (OSYS). The examination is held once in a year and is administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) (www.osym.gov.tr). Candidates gain access to institutions of higher education based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the selection examination and their high school grade point averages. Students who are graduated from Technical High School can be registered without an exam by the law 4702.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

The students of our university have the right to request the recognition of their prior learning at different universities. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents to the relevant department in the first semester of their registration year.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The requirements for getting Short Cycle Degree are to complete (120 ECTS) credit hours as listed below and to fulfill all other requirements.
a.(104) Credit hours covering (35) compulsory courses as detailed in the curriculum.
b.(8) Credit hours covering (3) elective courses as detailed in the curriculum.
c.Maximum study period to receive Short Cycle Degree is 4 years.

Profile of The Programme

The basic orientation of this programme is to train specialists in the field of electronic and to form their basic competences in professional, technical and communicative subjects. The study contains the basic courses of electronic and automation that also prepare the students for the first cycle degree. The professional knowledge, skills and attitudes gained during the study form basic competences for performing as a technician. The above mentioned competences guarantee full qualification for profession as a technician at educational and non-educational institutions.

After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;
Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The occupational profiles of the graduates contain:
• Professional readiness and level of professional adaptibility to conditions and requirements from the practice or basic professional education as the precondition for the follow-up teaching or departmental study of Electronic.

Access to Further Studies

After completing the short cycle degree programme, it is possible for the students to continue further studies in the first cycle degree programme on condition that they succeed in Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).

Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading

In the evaluation of course grading, depending on the type of the course, oral exams, homeworks, projects or laboratory works are taken into consideration. As for the assesment of the examinations; one midterm exam and/or other studies which take the place of mid-term exam has the contribution of 40% and the contribution of the final exam to the course grade is 60%. The research projects in the students'own fields are conducted by the teaching staff for the students' own development. A make-up exam is given to students with certified excuses accepted by the relevant executive board within one day after the final examinations are over.

Graduation Requirements

The requirements to graduate from Electronic Technology Programme are based on the following conditions:
*to be succesfull from all the courses required for graduation within the time period defined in the related regulation and to finish the study programme with the GPA of at least 2.00
*to do an internship of 30 weekdays

Graduates who successfully complete this program;
 1. have high level information and skills supported by the course books that include the most recent information, application equipment and other scientific sources related to education technologies, teaching profession, general information and basic sciences; use these informations and skills in daily life and in jobs,
 2. examine and evaluate concepts about education technology and teaching profession, ideas and data with scientific methods; diagnose, analyze and discuss complicated problems and subjects; develop suggestions based on scientific discoveries and evidences,
 3. inform the audiences who are not expert and do not have information about education technology and teaching profession; express related ideas about these problems and solutions with written and oral,
