Qualification Awarded

Students are awarded with a Second Cycle Degree in Management Information Systems as expertise in their field, upon successful completion of all the requirements in the curriculum programme and fulfilling all other requirements for graduation.

Objectives

The program aims to cultivate top-notch graduates who are able to satisfy the needs of businesses for creating, storing, accessing and sharing information; who possess highly advanced skills and competences to plan, design, put in place and manage the necessary methods, processes and systems required to meet such information needs for either corporate businesses or for their own ventures; and who are capable of identifying, fulfilling and managing such needs by conducting technical, economic and strategic analyses.

Specific Admission Requirements

The bachelors(intra-extra field) can apply for a graduate degree. There are some conditions for this:
-55 points for ASGEEE exam
-To take the IUCLE or FLPE or TOEFL exams.
-In addition, these rates are defined by the university senate. GPA is added to total score. 
-Every season has a limited quota.
Students must get 90 ECTS credits.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

The students of our University have the right to request the recognition of their prior learning at different universities. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents to the relevant department in the first semester of their registration year.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The requirements for getting Second Cycle Degree are to complete (90) credit hours as diveded below and to fulfill all other requirements.
1-The student has to complete 90 credit hours accredited
2-The Student must write a thesis about their field for graduate and have a Second Cycle Degree. For graduating determined jury should accept the thesis.
3-Maximum study period to receive First Cycle Degree is 4 years.

Profile of The Programme

Management Information Systems (MIS) is a discipline which uses both technical and behavioral science for providing any information that needed to person who works on different levels of a company. Making right decision is a management approach that expected to workers in every company.The main criteria is obtaining various raw data about an issue and putting on understandable, interpretable information. MIS is a discipline which minimize errors of making decision support with using belonging software and hardware capabilities behind recent IT infrastructures.

Program Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;
 1-  Transfer the acquired knowledge about information technology, management and organization and operational research to solution on IT problems with using appropriate MIS tools.
 2-  2.Analyze MIS data by using information technology techniques.
 3-  3.Identify data needs of different disciplines for MIS based problem solving, be able to provide these data, make them compiled and ready to process.
 4-  4.Use software for solving MIS problems, define solution strategies, use software at which s(he) is not familiarby understanding its working principle.
 5-  5. Recognize her/his knowledge as insufficient to solve MIS problem, determine her/his learning needs, access resources to learn them in English or their native language and evaluate them to use for solving the problem.
 6-  6. Design a MIS Project and contribute to its implementation.
 7-  7.Act as a member of the team to solve a MIS problem, take individual responsibility, contribute to the team and lead it when necessary.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates

As the program places a strong emphasis on the leading industries in Turkey, we expect the majority of our graduates to serve in one of the financial services, retail services, logistics and transportation, health services, tourism, professional services (consultancy, research-development, communications and information technologies, education), creative industries (advertisement, design, publishing etc.) and public services (public institutions and NGOs) industries.

Access to Further Studies

It is possible for our students to continue doctoral program at any university having the doctoral program of that department after their graduation.

Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading

Students have to attend minimum 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of the laboratory or application courses of their program. In the contrary case they can’t take final examinations of those courses. If a student fails in a course but he attends it he doesn’t have to attend that course again. Exams are usually done in written form. But the teacher can do the exams, projects and homework orally on the condition that he states it on information form. The exam is done by course’s own teacher. There usually is one midterm and one final exam in a term. The ratio for final exam is 60% and 40% for the projects, homework and midterm. Make-up exam is done in 15 days after final examination to students with alibi paper reviewed and approved by related department.To pass the lecture, 51 point must be got from the final exam.To take the final exam, mid-term exam must be taken. Furthermore the student must be completed thesis study

Graduation Requirements

There is no final examination or examination period at the end of an academic year, or at the end of the study programme. There is, however, a final examination and examination periods, i.e., normally takes a week and starts immediately after at the end of each semester.In addition to that student is required to complete his/her thesis (taken normally in 2th semester), which follows an oral presentation.
