Qualification Awarded

After students complete all the requirements in the economics curriculum programme and fulfilling all other requirements for graduation, they get Economics Second Cycle Degree Certificate and they graduate as a expertise in their field with second cycle degree.

Specific Admission Requirements

The bachelors(intra-extra field) can apply for a graduate degree. There are some conditions for this:
-55 points for ASGEEE exam or to take GRE or GMAT exams and to get points equivalent to ASGEEE
- To take the IUCLE or FLPE or TOEFL exams.
- In addition, these rates are defined by the university senate. GPA is added to total score.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

The students of our University have the right to request the recognition of their prior learning at different universities. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents to the relevant department in the first semester of their registration year.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The requirements for getting Economics Second Cycle Degree are to complete (120) credit hours as diveded below and to fulfill all other requirements.
1-60 Credit hours covering 9 compulsory courses plus seminar as detailed in the curriculum. 
2-The Student must write a thesis about their field for graduate and have a Second Cycle Degree. For graduating determined jury should accept the thesis.

Profile of The Programme

Economics Master’s Degree Program aims to provide students a strong basis of economic analysis. In the face of the necessity of renewed economic thought in view of changing conditions, the program promises to teach them accumulations of pioneer thinkers of economics, and to bring them skills of attendance to discussions between modern economics schools. 

Program Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;
 1-  To have a conscious about societal, scientific and professional ethics.
 2-  Makes ready to interdisciplinary academic studies in which the areas that needs economical perspective.
 3-  Having the ability to make consistent ideas in economicalsubjects and to defend these ideas, as well as to criticize the ideas made by the others from a wide point of view in approaches to economic issues and events in real life situations.
 4-  To have a full information about general microeconomic theory by numerical and graphical methods.
 5-  To have a full information about general macroeconomic theory by numerical and graphical methods.
 6-  Develop and deepen current and advanced level knowledge in economics to an expert level building on the competencies of the becholer education and acquire the skills make original contributions to science.
 7-  Grasp the main problems in the economics fields.
 8-  Explain and propose remedies for potential problems to be faced by national economies.
 9-  To comprehend the interaction between economics and related fields; to achieve original results by using expert knowledge in analysis, synthesis and evaluation of new and complex ideas.
 10-  Capable of figuring out main dynamics in Turkish economy and analyzing economic and social problems of Turkey

Access to Further Studies

It is possible for our students to continue four-year-doctoral program at any university having the doctoral program of that department after their graduation. Graduates take phd degree at economics programs.

Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading

Students have to attend minimum 70% of theoretical courses and 80% of the laboratory or application courses of their program. In the contrary case they can’t take final examinations of those courses. If a student fails in a course but he attends it he doesn’t have to attend that course again. Exams are usually done in written form. But the teacher can do the exams, projects and homework orally on the condition that he states it on information form. The exam is done by course’s own teacher. There usually is one midterm and one final exam in a term. The ratio for final exam is 60% and 40% for the projects, homework and midterm. Make-up exam is done in 15 days after final examination to students with alibi paper reviewed and approved by related department.To pass the lecture, 51 point must be got from the final exam.To take the final exam, mid-term exam must be taken. Furthermore the student must be completed thesis study.

Graduation Requirements

The student has to complete 120 credit hours accredited. In addition to that student is required to complete his/her thesis (taken normally in 2th semester).
