Qualification Awarded

Students are awarded with a Short Cycle Degree in Department of Property Protection and Safety upon successful completion of all the requirements in the curriculum programme and fulfilling all other requirements for graduation

Objectives

Aim of the Programme, the security sector and the government that will help you take charge or be able to find employment opportunities in public institutions is to train qualified manpower. Other important aims of the program will operate in the field of occupational health and safety in the industrial field and the training of individuals trained to provide.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students' admission to higher education is based on a nation-wide Student Selection Examination (OSYS). The examination is held once a year and is administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) (www.osym.gov.tr). Candidates gain access to institutions of higher education based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the selection examination and their high school grade point averages.Students who are graduated from Technical High School can be registered without an exam by the law 4702.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

The students of our University have the right to request the recognition of their prior learning at different universities. For the recognition of their prior learning, they should submit their transcript and course contents to the relevant department in the first semester of their registration year.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The requirements for getting Short Cycle Degree are to complete (120 ECTS) credit hours as listed below and to fulfill all other requirements.
a.86 ECTS Credit hours covering (22) compulsory courses as detailed in the curriculum.
b.26 ECTS Credit hours covering (8) optional courses as detailed in the curriculum.
c.Industrial-based training internship (8 ECTS) credit.

Profile of The Programme

The main purpose of this section is to build students' educational, psychological and communicative skills for training members of profession in the field of Property Protection and Safety. Forms the basic skills for profession in Property Protection and Safety. Provides full quality for the member of profession to work for public and private departments.

Program Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;

 2-  Occupational health and safety, purpose, definition, basic principles, main principles, business güveliği benefits of the regulations for promotion, employment law, occupational health promotion, hazards, precautions, hazards, the employer's and employee's liability, safety signs work accidents and the promotion of measures, abode diseases, noise. Vibration, personal protective equipment and the benefits they advertise, ergonomics, and the definition and evaluation of the risks described
 3-  Occupational health and safety training programs related to the basic concepts, theories and generalizations and applications through sampling and to inform about existing training programs and their perspectives for alternative approaches to develop. Work will encounter in their lives to make this basic training is to apply vv. Business laws and regulations and will try to follow is to apply in the business world.

-Requirements from the practice or basic professional education as the precondition for their professional career

Access to Further Studies

After completing the short cycle degree programme, it is possible for the students to continue further studies in the first cycle degree programme on condition that they succeed in Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).

Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading

In the evaluation of course grading, depending on the type of the course, oral exams, homeworks, projects or laboratory works are taken into consideration. As for the assesment of the examinations; one midterm exam and/or other studies which take the place of mid-term exam has the contribution of 40% and the contribution of the final exam to the course grade is 60%. The research projects in the students'own fields are conducted by the teaching staff for the students' own development. A make-up exam is given to students with certified excuses accepted by the relevant executive board within one day after the final examinations are over.

Graduation Requirements

The requirements to graduate from Department of Property Protection and Safety are based on the following conditions:
*to be succesfull from all the courses required for graduation within the time period defined in the related regulation and to finish the study programme with the GPA of at least 2.00
*to do an internship of 30 weekdays
