Qualification Awarded

After successfully completing graduation requirements of the curriculum program, the students graduate with Associate Degree in the field of "Health Instıtutıons Management Program".

Objectives

In addition to the information on business disciplines, specific courses for the field are offered by specialist teaching staff within the Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Health Institutions Management Program, where basic sectoral information required by the health sector is transferred. Program students will have the opportunity to see all the processes closely by visiting technical visits to recognized institutions in the field. The courses and teaching methods in the program are aimed at giving basic knowledge about the field as well as giving them the ability to transfer this information to the practice field. In line with this objective, it includes a number of specialization courses aimed at analyzing and solving management problems in the health sector that Turkey is facing, as well as supporting sub topics.

Specific Admission Requirements

Students are accepted through an examination based on Higher Education YGS (Higher Education Transition Exam). The examination is held once a year and is organized by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) (www.osym.gov.tr). Candidates can enter the higher education institutions with a score obtained by combining YGS examination scores and middle school achievement averages. Vocational and Technical Secondary Education Institutions graduates can be admitted to Vocational Schools without examination by law no. 4702.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning

Students enrolled at my university may request that they are exempted from the courses they have attended at the higher education institutions where they have already studied. To do so, they must submit their transcripts and course content to the relevant unit within the first week of the year of enrollment with a petition.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations

The requirements for obtaining the Undergraduate Degree are to complete 120 ECTS credits and fulfill the following conditions: A) (103) ECTS credits covering compulsory courses (36) specified in the curriculum.

(17) ECTS credits covering (5) elective courses specified in the curriculum.C. The maximum period of time for completing the Undergraduate Degree is 4 years.

Profile of The Programme

The Health Instıtutıons Management Program has the aim of preparing managers who are needed by health institutions and theoretically practical training programs. In short, the purpose of the Department of Health Institutions Administration; In addition to basic business knowledge, it has the knowledge of hospital management, this area is to train qualified human power who want to get a career and health sector needs.

Program Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;
 1-  Having the ability to communicate effectively and to be able to conduct team work.
 2-  To acquire knowledge and skills to understand, analyze and direct administrative, financial, legal, technical and medical operations of health institutions.
 3-  To have and apply theoretical and practical knowledge related to the field of health management.
 4-  Being aware of the legal, social and ethical responsibilities of the field of health management, acting in compliance with legal regulations and ethical principles.
 5-  Having the knowledge and skill to manage information systems in health management and to use them effectively.
 6-  To be able to comprehend the basic components of the national and international health system, health planning and policies, analyze the health sector and economic dimensions
 7-  Having knowledge and skills to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyzes in health management and practice
Occupational Profiles of Graduates

The graduates of the Health Institutions Management program are graduates of universities and foundation hospitals, private hospitals, rehabilitation centers, biomedical product companies, international pharmaceutical companies, companies producing health care services automation services, companies conducting research and education in the field of healthcare, Industrial equipment manufacturers, non-governmental organizations in healthcare, and health research centers.

Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading

In the calculation of the student's success grade, the examinations are evaluated as written, oral, homework, project or laboratory studies according to the nature of the course. Evaluating the exams; One midterm exam 40% and / or a contribution of 40% to the achievement grade of the other studies that replace the midterm exam, and a contribution of 60% to the final grade of the final exam. Students are required to submit their documents for excuses to the unit by the end of the first working day following the completion of the examinations, together with a petition.

Graduation Requirements

Graduation requirements are based on the following conditions:It is compulsory to complete all the courses required for graduation within the periods specified in the related regulation and to be successful in the courses taken by the program with a weighted GPA of at least 2.00.
