Students graduating from hospitality management department will have the title of "hospitality manager".

Objectives

Presenting valid and original academic programs in order to graduate students who are competent in tourism and hospitality management.

Creating, collecting and publishing the current information related to tourism and hospitality management. 

Conducting projects which aim to improve service quality and management processes in tourism and hospitality industry. 

Conducting projects and studies which may nationally and locally contribute to development of Turkish tourism industry.

Leading the public for protecting touristic heritages by molding public opinion and raising the awareness of public.

Contributing to the need for qualified human resources of Turkish tourism industry.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning
In undergraduate transfer and vertical transfer periods, students who are/were from different universities may apply to our program / school. A commission will be in charge in order to evaluate the applications and the students may be exempt from some courses after the evaluation.

Profile of The Programme

Tourism is an important sector within service industry for many countries. As a part of tourism education, hospitality management education involves giving students the necessary knowledge and competencies to manage tourism establishments that are being operated in a competitive environment. In this respect, tourism education comprises of management, marketing, financial management, accounting and practical topics.

 

Courses in Hospitality Management Department has been formed with the aim of providing students the theoretical tourism background and technical practice in order to solve various managerial problems they encounter.

Program Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this program, the students will be able to;
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students graduating from hospitality management department are able to be employed in hotel enterprises, holiday villages, catering firms, travel operators and agencies, cruises, restaurants, bars, entertainment centers, hospitals, shopping malls, transportation companies, universities, consulting firms and the Ministry of Tourism.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates may apply to master's or doctorate programs in any field or proficiency in fine arts programs.
Examination Regulations, Assesment and Grading
A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). The students must pass mid-term exam and final exam of each courses.  
Graduation Requirements
In order to be graduated from Hospitality Management program, students must accomplish the courses by getting totally 240 ECTS. In addition to accomplishment of the courses, students must have completed 60-days internship at hotels for the graduation.
